“As a lawyer specializing in cases of sexual assault, harassment, and human trafficking, I am dedicated to fighting for justice and empowering survivors. With a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding these sensitive issues, I provide compassionate and strategic legal representation to ensure the voices of survivors are heard.
At Liberty Law, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by these heinous crimes. With a focus on seeking justice, holding perpetrators accountable, and advocating for the rights of survivors, we strive to create a safer and more equitable society.
With extensive experience in handling cases of sexual assault, harassment, and human trafficking, our team is well-equipped to navigate the legal complexities and provide comprehensive support throughout the legal process. We understand the emotional and psychological impact these crimes have on survivors, and we approach each case with empathy, sensitivity, and unwavering determination.
Our expertise extends beyond legal representation. We also work closely with organizations and support networks dedicated to combating sexual assault, harassment, and human trafficking. By collaborating with community resources, we ensure survivors have access to the care and support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.”
-Micha Star Liberty
In addition to assault and trafficking cases, Liberty Law also represents employees who have been discriminated against or harassed in the workplace, and Micha has assisted businesses with finding common ground when releasing employees under the best terms.
Ms. Liberty is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco. She has held the titles of President and Vice President of multiple legal and political organizations, expanding her network of associates and resources, which often helps expedite the legal process for the greater benefit of her clients.
“My clients come to me during a time of tremendous pain, anguish, and often confusion. They need help and a specialized kind of help. Someone to talk to who will listen; someone who can offer confidential protection under the law; someone with trial knowledge who has worked with similar experiences so they know they are not alone. Everyone needs help and compassion during hard times. My calling in life is to be that advocate for my clients, and I’m never one to back down from a fight for what is right.”
Ms. Liberty is a frequent lecturer, focusing much of her public speaking on trial practice, sexual assault, harassment, trafficking cases, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). She was a contributing author and editor for the following practice guides: California Client Communications Manual and California Basic Practice Handbook, both published by Continuing Education of the Bar.
In addition to her thriving law practice, she is a certified mediator with over 40 hours of training, performing private mediations as well as mediations for the Contra Costa Superior Court. She is also a leadership consultant, DEI trainer, and paid public speaker.
Beyond her legal career, Micha Star Liberty is the founder of three additional businesses that embody her mission of justice, empowerment, and community:
- Radiant Star Roasters: A coffee company focused on empowering women in the coffee industry. Radiant Star Roasters sources from women-owned farms and donates 15% of profits to initiatives that support women’s growth and thriving futures.
- Lionhearted Leader: A leadership development platform dedicated to cultivating systemic change and empowering individuals through trauma-informed training and coaching programs.
- The Soaring Center: A consultancy providing trauma-informed support and resources for survivors of sexual assault, alongside tailored training for organizations seeking to build safer, more inclusive spaces.
Micha is also an accomplished author, with her latest book, Evolutionista: The Revolutionary Act of Accountability & Advocacy After Sexual Abuse, offering a transformative guide to healing, self-discovery, and empowerment. Drawing from her personal journey and professional expertise, Micha inspires readers to step into their full potential and create meaningful change in their lives.
Prior to law school, Ms. Liberty worked at the White House (Clinton Administration) and for two Members of Congress: U.S. Representative Mel Watt of North Carolina and U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo of California. She also served as a judicial extern to Senior United States District Court Judge Thelton E. Henderson. During law school, she served as a Moot Court Board member, teaching assistant, and editor for the Women’s Law Journal.
In addition to her work on behalf of injured and aggrieved individuals, Micha remains active in her legal and political communities. She has served as President of the Alameda-Contra Costa County Trial Lawyers Association, Vice President of the State Bar of California, and held leadership roles with several professional legal organizations, including:
