Founder & Lead Attorney
Micha founded Liberty Law in 2005 with a mission to protect people, not the powerful. Her practice centers survivors of sexual abuse, civil rights violations, discrimination, and trafficking. Known for her fierce legal strategy and her heart-forward approach, Micha leads the firm with integrity and a trauma-informed vision of justice.
Steven Masahiro B. Okaku
Executive Assistant
Steven plays a vital role behind the scenes at Liberty Law. As Executive Assistant, he oversees operations, client intake, case coordination, and support logistics. His professionalism, attention to detail, and steadfast dedication help ensure the firm remains responsive, organized, and client-focused.
Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman. His analytical training, systems-based thinking, and problem-solving skills translate seamlessly into managing complex workflows and supporting the firm’s mission with precision and care.
Lucia Cuggino
Legal Research Attorney
Lucia is an attorney specializing in Public International Law and Human Rights. Her work is guided by a steadfast commitment to protecting human dignity and defending those most vulnerable to harm, including women and children. Known for her thoughtful approach and principled advocacy, Lucia brings both rigor and compassion to every case.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Santa Fe, Argentina, and is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Public International Law with a concentration in Human Rights at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Lucia believes that justice begins with listening deeply, understanding each person’s story, and ensuring their rights are fully and effectively upheld.
Charlotte Liberty
Victim Advocate (Certification in Progress)
Charlotte brings a compassionate and informed perspective to Liberty Law’s work with survivors. She has experience supporting children with autism through applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy and is especially attuned to the needs of neurodivergent clients. With a strong interest in the connection between trauma and the brain, she helps ensure every client feels seen, supported, and safe.
Charlotte holds a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience from UC San Diego. Her academic background deepens her understanding of how trauma affects the brain and behavior, informing her thoughtful, evidence-based approach to survivor advocacy and client support.
