A lawsuit has been filed against a Panera Bread franchise in Pennsylvania for allegedly discriminating against African-Americans. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that owners of the franchise discouraged managers from hiring black applicants, and those that were employed were relegated to “back-of-the-shop” jobs, along with “fat or ugly” employees. The lawsuit is seeking class-action status.
