The mother of deceased monorail pilot plans to file a claim against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. However, her first petition to preserve evidence in the case was denied. Austin Wuennenberg, a 21-year-old monorail pilot, died when two monorail trains collided near the Transportation & Ticket Center at Walt Disney World. According to an investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, another monorail driver backed his train into the Wuennenberg’s train, killing him.
