A Texas woman has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the contraceptive NuvaRing, claiming she developed a deep vein thrombosis after only a month of use. A recent study by the FDA found that NuvaRing “was associated with a significantly higher risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) relative to standard low-dose estrogen birth control pills.” The woman is seeking $10 million in damages.
