BURBANK, CALIFORNIA – A Burbank Jury has awarded Susanne Whatley-Miller $4.5 million in a medical malpractice case she brought against La Canada Flintridge physician for the death of her husband, Thomas Miller. The physician, Dr. Collin Cooper, had misdiagnosed Mr. Miller who had complained of chest pains during his initial visit. As a result of being given a stress test, the 51 year old husband and father passed away. During this case’s trial a year ago, the jury was undecided on a verdict. Yet their final decision has resulted in Mrs. Whately-Miller and her two daughters receiving $3.5 million in general damages, including pain and suffering, and more than $1 million in economic damages.
