Micah Clatterbaugh is an associate attorney at Liberty Law Office. Prior to joining Liberty Law Office, his practice focused on employment civil rights, tenant rights, and personal injury.
Micah graduated from UC Berkeley in 2002. After several years of community organizing, professional culinary work, and legal advocacy for day laborers, Micah applied his creative, self-motivated, and self-taught traits to become a lawyer without law school. In 2017 he completed a legal apprenticeship under the California State Bar’s Law Office Study Program while working full-time as a civil rights paralegal. Micah spends much of his free time improving his culinary skills, caring for his many plants (in particular Bonsai), and training martial arts. He recently joined the board of directors for Esq. Apprentice, an Oakland-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting low-income women of color completing legal apprenticeships. Micah’s forthcoming book is a guide for anyone interested in becoming an attorney in California without attending law school.
